Korea International School underwent an entire revamp of its website in 2023. I was the chief designer and builder for KIS's new site.
When I arrived at Korea International School, updating the website was one of my top priorities. The admissions team had been undergoing a website redesign for about a year and a half with no real end in sight. I was able to take up the main responsibility of completing the redesign before the end of the semester.
I sat down with the Director of Admissions, the school's graphic designer, and the school's copy writer to assess where things were. I reviewed what had been created so far and began to strategize a way to efficiently finish the job and honor the work that had been put in before I arrived.
A challenge for this project was learning a new CMS. I had never used FinalSite before coming to KIS, so I needed to quickly learn how to use FinalSite's editor. Luckily, it is similar to many other website builders, so I was able to learn the necessary skills quickly and apply them to the parts of the website that needed to be completed.
I was able to complete the website in the set time frame, and I have continued to add improvements to the site, specifically an accurate calendar system and a parent resource page.
